Legacy and non-SI unit conversion factors

Exact conversion factors for the older units still printed on gauges, in patents, and in papers from before SI: atmospheres, Torr, mmHg, psi, calories, electronvolts, poise, and kilogram-force.

Notes

  • Several of these are exact by definition rather than measured, which is why the factors have no uncertainty attached.
  • Torr and mmHg are very nearly equal but not identical. At normal lab pressures the difference is negligible; in vacuum work it is not.
