Serial dilution

A fold-dilution series steps a stock concentration down tube by tube, with the same transfer and diluent volume each time.

Per-tube concentration

C_{n} = \frac{C _{0}}{f ^{n}}

1 M, 10-fold ×4, 1 mL

4 tubes at a 10× dilution, from 1 M down to 0.0001 M.
